How to prepare a sauce for lasagne?

First of all, for the preparation of lasagne you will need: special, flat sheets of pasta, bolognese sauce with minced meat and tomatoes, butter, flour béchamel sauce and Parmesan cheese.

A good meat sauce is a basis, so you should prepare it yourself from scratch. Of course, if you are just starting your adventure with Italian cuisine, you can use ready recipes for bolognese sauce – in powder or jar. Most often, mix them with minced meat and it’s ready.

The composition of the traditional sauce includes: pork and beef meat, a few slices of dried ham, a can of tomatoes, carrots, celery, a glass of beef broth, onions, garlic and oil.

In the pan, warm up the oil, add onions, chopped celery and garlic. Sometimes fibres appear in celery stalks, so it’s worth removing them all so that you don’t find them in the sauce. All ingredients are supposed to glaze. Add the grated carrot, meat and fry for 15 minutes. When the meat is ready, add the broth. You can also add 1 cup of dry red wine. Leave the sauce for another 15 minutes, then add the diced ham and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until a thick and aromatic sauce is formed.

Pasta for lasagne

To make lasagne perfect, it is worth taking care of the other ingredients – béchamel sauce and pasta. Lasagne flakes do not require any processing, as they will boil in the sauce during baking. Béchamel sauce can be another challenge. In a thick-bottomed pot, melt the butter in equal proportions and add wheat flour. A little lumpy mass should form. Fry the butter and flour well. It is very important that the milk added is cold. Otherwise, the sauce will simply not come out.

Pour them slowly into the pot while stirring constantly, the sauce should begin to thicken. When it has the right consistency, season it with pepper, salt and nutmeg.

Lasagna – layering and baking

Remember to set the oven to 180 degrees C before translating lasagne with sauces.

It is best to use a narrow baking tray, which is similar in width to pasta slices. This will make it easier to keep in shape. Spread a bit of butter on the bottom, then pour a little béchamel sauce, then a bolognese sauce, slices of pasta and again béchamel sauce, meat sauce and pasta until all ingredients are exhausted. Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese and put in the oven. Bake lasagne for 35 minutes. You can check the skewer stick to see if the pasta is ready.

Lasagna is a delicious dish that will delight everyone, and what’s more, you can freeze it and eat it at another time. It will definitely be delicious, so you don’t have to worry about the taste!
